See accompanying YouTube Video Just a bit of fun with this one. Oh yes and some shameless advertising.
If there is a message with this, it would be have fun with your photography, look for the unusual and you don't have to always travel. If you can’t get out for whatever reason then look closer to home. Find your own inspiration from what you enjoy. As long as you like it do not worry about what others may say, you can’t please everyone all of the time. I am not taking credit for this as I heard it somewhere recently but it is so true (I’m not really religious either but I do think the sentiment is something we should all remember). Jesus is possibly the most famous person ever, he was the son of God and yet not everybody liked him either. So if not everybody liked Jesus (the son of God) then what chance do any of us have of being liked by everyone? Just be happy with what you do and hope that others will like what you do to and if they don’t that’s also fine.

Image above entitled, The Long Walk (Monochrome).
Hello and welcome to 2020. A slow start to the New Year for us what with January illness and creaky bones that long for the heat of the summer sun. At some time though you have to dust yourself off stop thinking of turkey and TV and see what 2020 has to offer. As I write this what 2020 has to offer is more rain! However bad weather can be good as I hope the image above shows as it was taken in similar cold and wet conditions in Scotland. This year we hope to really just engage more with all of you, so please feel free to chat and comment on any of our current platforms. We would love to know what you think of the artwork we produce. We will continue creating artwork throughout this year and invite you all to come along, you may even find something you like along the way. So would you believe it the rain has stopped and the sun has now poked its head out, surely a sign of a bright and pleasant year ahead. We hope it will be a fantastic start for the new decade.
So what will be your resolution for this year? What is a resolution? It is only a wish, or a decision made in the heat of the moment, due to emotion or alcohol or even both. Very few people follow through on their New Year's resolutions. Take as example the local gym. Notice that the gym is crowded on Jan 1st. By Feb 1st, a lot of the people are cleared out and by April, things are pretty much back to normal. So what is the answer? Simple. Make a goal, rather than a wish. A goal is a much better idea and needs 3 things. 1. A clear objective that is measurable. 2. The goal needs to be achievable. If it's really big, break it down to smaller goals (small steps = big achievements). 3. A date that you want to achieve the goal by, that you must adhere to. Most importantly, write it down! Put it in a place where you can see it and it will be a constant reminder of your intention and really will motivate you. If you don't write it down, you won't do it. It's a private contract between you and that thing, whatever it may be (e.g. save money, smile more, be happy, lose weight or find love), you want to accomplish. As we are all about photography, what about a fairly easy to achieve goal. Take a photo every day. A 365 day photo challenge, which actually this year will be 366 as it is a leap year. Taking a photo a day might appear daunting at first but you might not be too far from it already. Especially if you have a young child! In this case, chances are you’re already taking at least 20 a day. Doing the challenge doesn’t mean you have to be a professional photographer or go out of your way to find the perfect shot. A blurry shot can actually mean a lot on a busy day. It’s like creating a journal…without taking the time to sit down and write. It is also a really great way to find the beauty in all life’s little moments. Take photos of any and everything that you want for instance,
Let people see them and let them know what you are doing, upload them to social media and title or tag them with something like 2020 366 day challenge (insert day taken). Get others to do the same challenge and have a laugh and a joke comparing. Or why not create a printed album of your best photos from the year. What you will have by the end of the year are frozen moments in time, memories to cherish. Lastly if your goal is to find fabulous art work for you newly decorated living room, bedroom any room in the house for that matter (including the bathroom, we have artwork in the bathroom) or for your business, then look no further.
