An elderly man looks over at his bedside table and picks up a photo frame, the picture is a portrait of a very young woman looking like a film star, she is smiling broadly and has a sparkle in her eye. The man giggles to himself as he recalls the very first time he saw the picture and what a wonderful day that was. Carefully he replaces the frame on the bedside table, blows a kiss and says sleep well to his one and only true love. Together for 50 years, sadly she is no longer with him, but he still has his memories, his bedside photo and many more photographs taken throughout their lives to remind him of her, and keep his memories alive.

Laying in the garden the sun on my face
Looking to the world that I’ve slowed down the pace But behind my closed eyes another story lies For in that heat and silence my mind begins to race I start to think business and next thought is website I haven’t yet blogged what on earth should I write? Laying in the garden the sun on my face Suddenly a thought and then it drops into place A poem I shall write, for me that’s different and new Is it about photography, not really or is this, Because my first thoughts after all were business So I leave it up to you, you decide, what’s your view? I’ll go back to laying in the garden the sun on my face Looking to the world that I’ve slowed down the pace. by Len Pitcher |
